On Nov. 10th, 1998, the day after the Chicago show of their 1998 Winter Tour, Jon Fishman and Mike Gordon of Phish showed up at a Dark Star Orchestra show at Martyrs' in Chicago. Recreating the Grateful Dead's 1983 Halloween show at the Marin County Veteran's Auditorium, DSO was playing to a packed house of appreciative fans. Jon ended up sitting in on Ahmer's drum kit for most of the second set of the show; joining in on the last jam of Eyes into Drumz and then returning after Space for the second verse of St. Stephen and playing the rest of the show while Ahmer joined David Plante on percussion. DSO & Fishman also did three elective songs together (Blow Away, Terrapin and Playin') to close the show.
